Strength and dynamic analysis of structures, parts and assemblies by finite element method

FUNCTIONALITY

  1. Linear static analysis acceleration of the calculation (up to 10 times) for large models with a large number of loads by optimizing the forming vector of right parts (internal procedure of collecting loads on the structure) and a list of the fixed degrees of freedom.

  2. Direct integration method is implemented for calculation of forced oscillation of a model.

  3. Accelerated forced oscillation analysis by optimizing internal operations.

  4. New specialized element type "damper" is added. Its characteristics are entered in the dialog box "Elastic link". The usage of the damping element is relevant to the calculation of forced oscillations.

  5. Temperature dependent material properties are implemented in static analysis and forced oscillations "as a result of" non-stationary thermal analysis.

  6. More accurate assemblies calculations – new contact elements are now used.

  7. Non-linear analysis for high-order solid finite elements is implemented.

  8. Enhanced supports. It is now possible to set initial displacements to both rigid and elastic one-directional supports.

  9. New 5-noded Pyramid solid element (one of the faces is a quadrilateral, so called the base).

  10. New creation/edit modes are added for the following solids: 5-noded, 13-noded, 13-noded by 5 points, 20-noded by 8 points, 10-noded by 4 points.

  11. Conversion function of low-order solids to high-order solids (4-, 5-, 6-, 8- noded to 10-, 13-, 15-, 20- noded respectively), that allows to increase calculation accuracy, reducing the requirements to the quality of the initial mesh.

  12. New mode of mesh refinement on solid models (4-node tetrahedra) is added, for a more detailed analysis of potentially hazardous areas.

  13. New load type – «self weight» on selected elements. This option allows to take into account the weight of individual parts of the structure with different reliability factors.

  14. Steel design elements coping to clipboard by finite element coping is implemented.

  15. Steel design elements checking according to Eurocode 3 is added.

  16. New results are available: safety factors by SMAXTAU(effective stress by max. Shear stress theory, SMOHR(Mohr effective stress) for shells and solids.

  17. Extended functionality of plate creating with "binding" - you can now automatically split the plate, if it has only one side with previously created additional nodes (at the opposite side new points are automatically generated).

  18. New command "Hoop" is added. It will simulate the external reinforcement of bar elements by entering into the structure of an additional element with the same nodes. Stiffness characteristics of the element are defined by the user, specifying the required cross-section

  19. Optimized “Foundations” dialog: accelerated edit/delete/etc. operations.

  20. New additional results of foundations calculation: foundation area sufficiency (by pressure); sufficiency of soil total depth (by punching).

  21. Composite plates with asymmetric layers.

  22. Temperature gradient load (both by height and surface) is now available for composite plates.


INTERFACE+VISUALIZATION

  • “Show All” mode (fit the model to the working window) is implemented for all opened windows as well.

  • It’s implemented a "simplified" semi-transparent show of plates from switched off layers.

  • New commands in «Layers» dialog: «up/down»,«begin/end»; layer name edit by «F2»; delete layer by «Delete» key.

  • New button «Delete and move all to active» in «Load Case» dialog.

  • The function of finding the free edges is implemented to facilitate the handling of large dimension plate models, allowing to simplify the structure rotation procedure and perform a visual search disconnectedness in the model.

  • New option of load case selection is added in “Pipe Properties” dialog for Pressure parameter to place it in the required load case.

  • New option “open/closed ends” for a pipe property.

  • For checking calculation of reinforced structural elements, the reinforcement map for all elements (not only passed test) is now displayed.

  • For the convenience of dealing with large dimension models, two new filters are added in the "Reinforced Design Elements" dialog: "Show only without reinforcement", "Show only items for which reinforcement can’t be made".

  • Alternating rebars can now be used for the checking calculation of reinforced slabs.

  • New option for printing in RTF files – print results for all load cases and combinations

  • New representation of principal stress as a vector is added.

INTERFACE+VISUALIZATION

Pre-and-postprocessor of 3D solid and shell models for finite element analysis

1. New load type – «Distributed moment». It can be applied on faces and edges.

Type of shell elements (3- for 4-node shell) can now be selected by single face meshing in «Manual surface meshing» mode.

3. 10-node tetrahedra can now be used in buckling analysis.

4. Enhanced automatic text report - title page with interactive content, and the blank for "introduction" and "conclusion" sections.

5. More accurate assemblies calculations – new contact elements are now used.

Fasteners calculation and design

  • Improved rendering of shear stress map in the weld. The map is now displayed with a thickness equals to a weld leg, allowing demonstrate the result more adequately.

  • Enhanced results for bolts. The calculated loads on each bolt in now available for checking calculation.

  • Enhanced printing in RTF file.
